pre-made paddle

Definition: In table tennis, a pre-made paddle is a table tennis bat that can be bought in its completed form from a dealer or distributor, or more commonly from a sports shop.

For a pre-made paddle, the rubbers have already been attached to the blade, so the bat is ready to use. Typically the blade and rubbers are of lower quality, and sell for a cheaper price than the custom-made paddles more experienced players use (where the blade and rubbers are purchased separately, and glued together by the player).

Pre-made paddles are usually used by beginners and recreational players, but are generally replaced with custom-made paddles once a player begins to take the sport seriously and wants to produce more spin and speed on his strokes.
