Two Wing Hitter

Miao Miao – two wing hitter. © Greg Letts

Strokes Used

Players of this style attack with drives or smashes from both sides of their body, typically with a shakehand grip. Less spin and more speed is used in comparison with the Two Wing Looper.

Distance from the Table

These types of players prefer to play close to the table (up to 3-4 feet away at most), where their style is most effective.

Typical Equipment

These players commonly use short pips rubbers with sponge, and may boost or speed glue the rubber as well at higher levels. An offensive blade is also used.

Popularity

The two wing hitter playing style is now fairly rare in the higher levels of the game, but it can still be effective.
