pendulum serve

Definition: A pendulum serve is a serve in which the bat is swung like the pendulum on a grandfather clock, so that the tip of the bat points to the side of the player, then to the floor, and then to the other side of the player.

As with many things, it is easier to understand visually, so here is a video and photographic explanation of the forehand pendulum serve.
