court

Definition: There are two common usages of the term ‘court’ in table tennis.

  1. The table itself, of which each half is commonly known as a court (e.g. the player’s court and the opponent’s court).
  2. The playing space around the table, which for ITTF international competitions is rectangular and not less than 14m (15.3 yards) long, 7m (7.66 yards) wide and 5m (5.47 yards) high.
