This page will normally just list the playing schedule, but since we are just starting I’ll include some notes:
- The Lab will be open 7 days a week. In theory it could be 24hrs a day, but to start with lets keep it from 7am-12pm. If you desperately need to come down from midnight to 7am, check with me first.
- Cost is $10 per session per person.
- Please email me (greg@gregsttpages.com) or sms me (0408 953 764) to let me know when you are planning to come down and who with, so I can update the playing schedule. Don’t phone me! That way you and other players can check this page to see who else is going to be there on any given day, and you’ll know if tables are available. The more in advance you can let me know the better. I do tend to sleep late, so please no sms’s before 10am – try to hang on till then.
- But do phone me if you need something more complicated than a simple table booking.
- Each person you book for gives you an hour’s worth of table booking. i.e. if Fred, Max, Tim and Mike are going to play together, they can book Table 2 for 4 hours (e.g. 6-10pm), or book Table 2 and Table 3 for 2 hours (e.g. 6-8pm) and pay $10 each for a total of $40.
- If nobody else has your table booked after your booking finishes, you are welcome to stay and keep playing.
- You can pay via Paypal (greg@gregsttpages.com), hand me cash if I’m there, or put your money in the envelope provided, write your name and the amount on the envelope and pop it in the locked letterbox you’ll find near the entrance on the inside of the hall. If you really want to do an EFT, I can let you know my bank account number.
- You can come down by yourself, pay your $10 and play socially with whoever else is there, but it’s up to you to find playing partners.
- The playing schedule on this website is the final word on who has a table booked.
- I’ll pass on the master lock code to you via email or sms when you contact me. Don’t share the master lock code with others. I do not want to come down and find unexpected people in my place. When you get the key out of the master lock, shut the lock box and scramble the code afterwards so strangers can’t come along and discover the code while you are inside. Hang the key on the hook near the door on the inside.
- If nobody else is there and you want to move the barriers for some extra room, go ahead. I’ve put some red stickers on the walls so you know where to put the barriers back when others arrive or when you leave.
- Don’t park in front of units 2, 3, or 4 during business hours. The car park in front of the roller door for unit 5 is for The Lab – I don’t mind you using it if I’m not there. Other than that, stick to the car parks in front of unit 1 (which is unoccupied at the moment, use any time) and the Slovenian club in units 6 and 7 (weeknights and weekends when they aren’t there, which seems most of the time). It will make sense when you arrive. There is also plenty of street parking available.
- Don’t hang around and talk in the car park. There is residential housing across the road and I don’t want to bother them, and I don’t want any complaints from them.
- No smoking anywhere on the premises, including the car park. I don’t want to have to pick up your cigarette butts.
- Help yourself to the coffee/tea, but clean up after yourselves – there are mops and brooms there so if you spill something, clean it up. Same for toilets – especially! Feel free to leave a mug with your name on it on the sink for you to use when you are there.
- If you are the last to leave, turn off the lights and air-conditioner, take the key off the hook near the door, lock up, put it back in the master lock box outside and don’t forget to scramble the code!
- Any suggestions, write them on the whiteboard. If we are running low on anything (tea/coffee, toilet rolls, table tennis balls) write it on the whiteboard. If anything breaks/is broken, write it on the whiteboard. If it is urgent, phone me!
- Give me your phone number and email at some point, so that if a table booking cancels on a busy night, I can sms and email everybody to let them know a table slot has opened up.
- There are cold drinks and cold water in the bar fridge. Help yourselves to the cold water, and the soft drinks are $1 each. BYOB.
- If you use the robot, pick up the balls and put the back in the robot when you finish. You don’t have to get under the table, just make sure the floor is clear.
- There is shelving along the side wall to put your bags on.
- Have fun!
